SUMMER 2010/Crafting with the girls of St. James Town

In an effort to connect with girls in the neighbourhood and get them thinking about what wonderful craftiness they could get themselves into, 10-15 of us young ladies gathered  twice a week to craft and chat. All our crafts involved reused materials in someway. I’m happy to say that bookbinding got the best reviews! And at the end of the summer, we had a little craft sale to raise money for the flood relief efforts in Pakistan. Funds went to The Humanitarian Coalition, by choice of the Re:Make girls.

Creative Birthday! Crafting, Cocktails, and Creating Opportunities
NOV ’09 / In support of a mutually agreed upon cause voted on during the party. The winner:
Pathways to Education
Tired of just sitting around and drinking at birthday parties, this one was meant to incorporate birthday celebration, intense team work, and support a good cause. Goods from this crafting project were sold at the Toronto Small Press Book Fair (December 12th, 10am-5pm, Gladstone Hotel). 100% of sales went to support the work of Pathways to Education — a great cause empowering youth in Regent Park to commit to life empowering education.
